1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Vela VPN collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application and website. By using Vela, you agree to the terms described here.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our core principle is simple: we provide a VPN service to protect your privacy, and we apply that same philosophy to how we handle your data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide and improve the service:

• Account information: Your email address and password (hashed) when you register with email, or your name and email from Google Sign-In.
• Payment information: Payment processing is handled entirely by third-party processors. We do not store full credit card numbers or payment details on our servers.
• App diagnostics (optional): Anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs. This contains no personal information and can be disabled in app settings.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

The following data is never collected, logged, or stored by Vela:

• Browsing history or DNS queries
• Your real IP address during VPN sessions
• VPN session timestamps (connection/disconnection times)
• Bandwidth usage per user
• Traffic content or metadata
• The websites, services, or apps you access through the VPN

4. How We Use Your Information

The limited information we collect is used solely to:

• Create and manage your Vela account
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send essential account notifications (e.g., password reset, billing receipts)
• Respond to your support requests
• Improve the stability and performance of the app

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties only where strictly necessary:

• Payment processors: To handle subscription billing. They operate under their own privacy policies.
• Google Sign-In: If you use Google to sign in, Google authenticates you and shares your name and email with us.

We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or any other third-party data brokers.

6. Data Security

All VPN traffic is encrypted using the WireGuard protocol with state-of-the-art cryptography. Account passwords are stored as salted hashes. Communication between the app and our servers uses TLS 1.3.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. As noted above, we retain no VPN usage logs — there is nothing to delete.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your data in a machine-readable format

9. Children's Privacy

Vela is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
