Step-by-step guide to configure WireGuard VPN on your Asus router using stock firmware or Asuswrt-Merlin.

ℹ️ Before you start, log in to velavpn.com/account, find your server in the server list, and click Download Config to get your WireGuard .conf file.

Step-by-Step Setup (Stock Firmware / Asuswrt-Merlin)

Open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.1 or router.asus.com.
Log in with your admin credentials.
Go to VPN → VPN Client → WireGuard tab.
Click Add profile, then choose Import .conf file and upload your Vela config.
Confirm the Endpoint shows auto.velavpn.com:51820 and click OK.
Under the new profile, click Activate to connect.
The Connection status column should turn green and show Connected.
All LAN devices connected to this Asus router are now routing through Vela VPN.

💡 Asuswrt-Merlin firmware unlocks advanced WireGuard client features. Download it from asuswrt-merlin.net for supported Asus models.

⚠️ Older Asus routers running firmware older than 3.0.0.4.386 may not have the native WireGuard VPN client tab. Update your firmware first or install Asuswrt-Merlin.
