TP-Link Router WireGuard Setup

Step-by-step guide to set up Vela VPN WireGuard on your TP-Link router and protect every device on your network.

ℹ️ Before you start, log in to velavpn.com/account, find your server in the server list, and click Download Config to save the .conf file to your device.
Step-by-Step Setup
  1. Open a browser on a device connected to your TP-Link router and navigate to http://192.168.0.1 or tplinkwifi.net.

  2. Log in with your admin username and password (default: admin / admin, or check the label on your router).

  3. In the admin panel, go to Advanced → VPN Server → WireGuard.

  4. Click Import Config and upload the .conf file you downloaded from velavpn.com/account.

  5. Verify the server address shows auto.velavpn.com and the port is 51820. Keys should be populated automatically.

  6. Under Allowed IPs set it to 0.0.0.0/0 to route all traffic through Vela VPN.

  7. Click Save, then toggle the WireGuard switch to Enable.

  8. All devices connected to your TP-Link router are now automatically protected by Vela VPN.

💡 To verify the VPN is working, connect a device to your router and visit ipinfo.io. Your location should match the Vela server you selected.
⚠️ WireGuard support requires TP-Link routers with built-in VPN client support (e.g., Archer AX series) or OpenWrt firmware. Older budget models may not support it. Check the TP-Link website for your model's specifications.
